Bombay: Pakistan admits having served as a rear base

An admission that the Indian authorities had been waiting for four months. "The incident occurred in India and the conspiracy was planned partly in Pakistan," admitted Thursday the director of Pakistan Ministry of Interior, Rehman Malik. This is the first time since the attacks in Bombay, which were 164 deaths last November that Pakistan recognizes, at this level of the State, its territory was used to prepare the attacks. Pakistani investigators have found some of the places used by the attackers to prepare for their operation. Two caches, one in the port of Karachi and another two hours drive from the city, were raided. The police have also traced the boat used by attackers to dock in India. Terrorists are well on the coast of Pakistan.

Surtout director of the Interior Ministry said that six of the "brains and organizers" of the attacks were arrested. They are the subject of a complaint for "complicity, conspiracy and planning" attacks. Only two of the planners have not yet been recovered by police, who carried out since November 28 to 71. Among the arrested man is the key to the conspiracy, Hammad Amin Sadiq. The police are brought to him after having identified the shop who sold one of the boat engines. The trader gave the police the telephone number of Sadiq. He was confused by the examination of his phone calls and bank transfers to his account.

Investigators also discovered that some funds transferred to Italy and Spain had been used to finance the attacks and we had used SIM cards in Austria.

India welcomed the attitude "positive" of Pakistan and called once again to dismantle the "infrastructure of terrorism". which has already faced its neighbor and rival Pakistan in three wars, has steadily increased. New Delhi has asserted that the Pakistani intelligence services were involved in the preparation of the attacks. Islamabad has any involvement of its secret services, but has however never denied Indian accusations that the attacks were organized and perpetrated by the Lashkar-e-Taiba, a banned armed Islamist group based in Pakistan. The sole survivor of the commando is Pakistan.
